The Last Dance Documentary: A Review

The Last Dance Documentary: A Review

By Chris Ellis: Sports Reporter

The Last Dance is a documentary that headlines the story of NBA legend Michael Jordan and his story about his life and NBA career. The Last Dance is a 10 part documentary originally aired on ESPN and will be available on Netflix in July. It includes interviews with Jordan himself, players who played in his era, his teammates when he played baseball and his rivals whom he dealt with over the years.

It also follows the timeline of the 1997-1998 Chicago Bulls season that was  called“The Last Dance.” The documentary includes hidden stories and secrets that were never told before.

Some of the stories that were featured that may have surprised the public was when in 1993, the New York Knicks defeated the Bulls in game one of the Eastern Conference finals when Jordan and his father escaped the New York media one night to go gambling in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Some reports claimed that he was out all night gambling with his father and some tried to use this headline as a distraction for the Bulls in the series. Jordan then stated that he was “out for a couple of hours and not the whole night.”

The Knicks would go on to win game two of that series.  What eventually happened was that it was a turning point in the series because the Bulls would win the next four and the series.

This documentary reveals a bunch of unknown stories and answers that surprised many viewers. This documentary would be ranked a 9/10 because it was missing Jordan’s time with the Washington Wizards in the early 2000’s.
